Public services are a key part of government, but they cannot be given without proper funding. Even with the best intentions (and especially without), governments are restrained by the finances they have available, and how they manage them internally. This session explores the economics of governments, as well as the decentralization of government power, on a government’s bottom line. Focused mainly on Nigeria and Ghana, but with examples across the continent, this session is an advanced look into the different players and factors in complex government economic systems.
