I am doing research on sustainable homes for Northern Canadian communities. Currently, there is a major housing crisis in the North. Design of homes are often imported from the south without much consideration for local environment and cultural needs. In addition, the North lacks (a) skilled labour, (b) road connections to the South and to other communities and (c) energy infrastructure. My research aims to improve the way we built in the North.
